Vacation Part 1- Utah Here We Come

I wonder how many times I have driven from California to Utah and back in my life... I truly can't even begin to count! I know most every gas station, restaurant, and pit stop on Interstate 5. No matter how many times we drive there I still think Nevada is ugly and wonder why God created such a place. I still think St. George is beautiful with all the red rocks. I get impatient when we reach Nephi because that means we are almost there, but really it's still a good hour more.

As a child I remember always going to the bookstore before a trip and getting new books to read. I picked mysteries and classics, Adam got sports almanacs and Laura chose Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. I try to do the same with my kids so that there are multiple things to do- books, games, drawing, and now they are lucky and have electronic games and dvds to pass the time!
Grace loves to draw and also undo the top part of her seat belt! Backyardigans videos keep her happy. She also caught up on a lot of sleep!
We had to take Nana and Granddad's van because the back seats had been stolen out of Ryan's car the week before! It was so nice of them to let us use the car. It was a little squishy in the back seats though since these kids are getting so big!
A pretty picture Amber took out the window! We had an uneventful trip to Hobble Creek Canyon in Springville. We met up with the Christofferson clan and had 4 days of fun! More to come....
