Vacation Part 3- Just us in Utah

After the reunion we stayed at Nana and Granddad's house in Highland. They were in Canada though so we pretty much had the place to ourselves (Adam and Mar and kids stayed one night). Our original idea was to play with the Brinkerhoffs, but they were in Colorado so we were out of luck. What to do?

We went and saw Granny (Grandma Scadlock) first. Aunt Peri happened to be visiting from Arizona so we got to have a nice visit at Granny's house in Orem with both of them. She has always been so wonderful to me and we had a kick catching up and listening to her tell jokes- one of her favorite things to do. Peri was able to give us the updates on her kids, especially about Jordan who is in Afghanistan right now.

That night we stayed up late and watched the old Disney movie "Blackbeard's Ghost" (much to the chagrin of Amber and Justin). The rest of us thought it was very funny.

The next day Ryan took Amber, Marin and Ben to see the movie "Despicable Me" while Justin, Grace and I went to the farm/petting zoo at Thanksgiving Point. We had tons of fun. Grace loved feeding the animals right out of her hand.

Oh no! Grace and Justin are in jail!

Afterwards we went up to the restaurants and had some lunch. Grace and Justin also discovered this cool statue. You could pull different levers and water would shoot out from various surprise places. Grace got soaked! I think it was the most fun she has had all summer!
After the movie, the rest of the family met us at the water sculpture and had some lunch. We had had so much fun with the animals that they wanted to go too, so we went back and spent another hour or two riding horses, feeding animals, playing with the farm exhibits and just being together.
Dad and Grace on the wagon ride.
Ben on a horse with his cool new BYU hat.
Amber resting on a tractor tire and Marin playing on a fake tractor.

I'm so sorry we weren't here to play. That would've been fun. The picture of Justin and Grace cracked me up! They could not be more opposite looking! Too cute!
