Vacation Part 2- Christofferson Reunion

Grandpa Paul and Grandma Jeanne presided over the 2010 Christofferson reunion in Hobble Creek Canyon July 25- 30. Grandpa is looking very frail. (He is 90 years old). He was able to make it around a little bit with his walker, but was not the fun-loving, full of life grandpa I am used to. Grandma is doing very well actually and seemed even stronger by having all her children, and most of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren surrounding her.

Thanks to cruise director Laura we had lots of fun activities including water slide kick ball!
By the end we just let the kids slide. It was super fun! Spencer is sliding and trying to catch something from Cousin David at the same time. Papa even popped one of the balls with his wicked toenails!

Some of the fans for the game- Uncle Tom with who knows what on his head, Uncle Todd who doesn't sit in chairs?, Grandpa Paul, Grandma Jeanne, Grandma MarJane and Rainey. On another day we had Christofferson Olympics (again brought to us by Laura and Kevin). There was much silliness, a bit of competition and even cheers back and forth from Uncle Wade and Uncle Greg's rivaling teams. Grace "helped" my team win. She and Zoey actually seemed much more interested in exploring than playing.

The medal ceremony with help from the "Medal Girls" Marin with bronze, Lexi Murkley with silver and Katherine Nufer with gold.
Ryan's awesome shot put throw. I think some of my children's' dance ability may come from dad...what do you think? I mean check out that pose!
We filled out our active days with yoga classes by Claire, dance class by me, volleyball and basketball games and much, much more. During the down times we did three huge puzzles and played games provided by Aunt Becky, of course.

The horrible puzzle finally finished. I can't even begin to add up the number of hours and people it took to complete this one!We had a day of hiking as well. Some went to Mount Timapnogus for a hike to the caves and others, including ourselves, hiked the "Y". Grace made it about half way walking and being carried and then was done. I waited with her while the rest of the family headed to the top! (Amber took the picture) I should add that we were not sure which of us was going until the night before we left! Both the boys were playing All Star baseball and both their teams lost on Sunday eliminating them from the tournaments. Lucky for us, that meant everyone got to come on the trip!

Amber, Dad, Ben , Justin and Marin sitting on top of the "Y". A trip to the bookstore was of course in order after the mountain hike. Tons of money was spent of Cougar clothing and even school supplies.
After the fun and games we were all tired! Some of us sat and enjoyed each other's company- Kevin, Laura and Zoey with Tom and Brynn Nufer. Others dropped right on the spot...

We had family home evenings, a fireside, skits that were awesome and a magic show. Way too much bacon for anyone family to eat in a week and lots of yummy food. What a great time!!! We can't wait until next time.

So fun! We are so glad that ALL of you were able to come! (PS-the picture of Spencer sliding and grabbing something is actually being given by Cousin Dave, not Uncle Kevin! :-)
