Amber

I just needed to write a bit about my now 14 year old daughter! This picture was taken a few weeks ago at her school choir concert. She is with her favorite teacher, Mrs. Scott. (I work with her too doing the choreography for her musical theater classes and I love her as well!) Anyway, Amber auditioned for and got a solo at the concert- there were only 2! She sang "God Help the Outcasts" from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. She looked a bit nervous, but sounded like an angel! I was so proud of her. It is a slow and high song- one you can easily mess up or go off key on when you are nervous, but she did great. I tried to tape it with two different cameras and of course, they both ran out of juice right after she started singing. Lame. Anyway, a few days later my once tiny baby turned 14 while she was on a great adventure in Washington DC with two other teachers from her school. They saw so many things and had an amazing time. If you want details ask her, but be specific about what you would like to hear (ie. "tell me the historical sites you saw", or "what was Gettysburg like"). If you are not specific you will end up listening to all kinds of strange, random things that they thought were funny and you won't hear much about Washington DC :). I am proud of her working so hard to develop her talents- she is also doing the District honor choir right now and is in the stake musical. Maybe a bit like mother like daughter? In any case, she is beautiful and amazing. I wish you could have all heard her sing. I'm glad she's mine- even if she acts a bit too "teenagerish" at times.

A BIT like her mother? I hope you were being sarcastic there. : ) I'm so proud of her too. Her singing voice is GORGEOUS and how brave of her to perform such a difficult song in front of so many people! Good job Amber...and 14???? Why the face????? ( I hope you watch Modern Family and understand that reference!)
Most definitely she is a 'bit like her mother' Nana told me how beautiful her Solo was. Way to go Amber. LOVES to you and really she is 14? Holy Cow, I still remember getting a phone call from Ryan while I was in Israel. Crazy how fast it goes!~
14!!!????? Holy Cow! Our little Amber is all growd up! I'm feeling so old! But I'm also feeling so proud! I wish I could have heard her sing! I'm sure it was beautiful! I sure hope she keeps it up! American Idol maybe??? I think I may have to live vicariously through her and her voice. Just tonight I was telling Adam that if there is one thing I could change about my person it would be my singing voice! I SOOOOO wish I could sing and will just have to listen to Amber and be happy for her instead! Love You Amber!
