Vaquero baseball
Justin's career in Irvine High Varsity baseball was short, but sweet this year. He played in the winter league games in January and early February. Most of the games were at Ryan Windrow field or in Santa Ana. He got to play at catcher quite a bit because Chase was injured. Once the season started he spent most of his time at first base. Theses first few pics are from the varsity vs. alumni game. He was wearing a borrowed jersey so his number was 4.
When the real season started he was #8. Weird to cheer for since he has never been #8 in any sport in his life! #12 was taken so he had to pick something else. The weather was beautiful this early in the spring so we spent every game enjoying the sun, the baseball, the friends and cheering on the boys.
Pat and Peri were driving through and came to a game to cheer on Justin. Nana and Granddad came a week later and got to see him play in his last game as a Vaquero. Everyone was sad to see him leave. Coach Szczudlack said really nice things about him which was very kind. A short baseball season, but a fun one!
