Summer Vacation 2012

We finally left on vacation even though Ben's All Star baseball team kept winning -thinking they would lose their next game and be out of the tournament.  We were wrong by the way and they won!  So I had to email the coach and profusely apologize.  Ben missed the last game- which they lost- and then the season was over.  In any case, after our trip to Wyoming (see the previous post) we spent the next few days at Nana and Granddad's in Utah.  They had just completed redoing the backyard and as Ben said, "This is the best backyard EVER!"  We spent almost everyday swimming with cousins and friends.

The lovely Amber- with Spencer "helping" her off the diving rocks!

I even went down the water slide on the rafts with kids.  It was super fun.
Crazy cousins make life so much more fun!  These three were silly and giggly and adorable.

Auntie Julie and Amber
I had to take these two pictures because these ladies are always checking their phones- texting, playing games and looking up things.  Like mother, like daughters :)

There was lots of fun playing on the trampoline as well. Ben perfected his flips. There was lots of jumping.  The kids also found a family of frogs living under the tramp which they had great fun watching and holding.

One afternoon Michele and Audrey Orgill came to play as well.  It was super fun catching up with them and hanging out for a few hours. We miss them since they moved to Utah.
Granny and Aunt Peri came over one afternoon which gave us time to catch up.  Here she is posing with Garett, Natalie, Logan, Ben, Marin and Avery in the top picture.  Reece, Noah, Avery and Brady in the lower picture.

We only got to play with Brooklyn for one night and a bit the next morning.  Heather had headed up to Pocatello the evening we got to Utah.  Just before we left the three girls played a song for us on the piano that they had written.  Marin wrote the lyrics and Natalie figured out the accompaniment, they taught it to Brookie and performed for us.  They were actually quite good.  Then Amber played and sang a song she had written which was awesome!  It could totally be on the radio.  We did have time for a visit to the BYU Bookstore- always a must- and a visit to Grandpa Paul at his new assisted living apartment.  We didn't get to visit with him as long as we would have liked because a physical therapist showed up and worked with Grandpa after we had only been there a few minutes.  It was good to see him though. Before we knew it it was time to head home.  A short vacation, but we had fun being with cousins!
