Vacation 2011

Mom, Amber, Ben, Marin and Grace headed up to Utah driving while Dad and Justin had to sty home for work and Scout camp. When we got there we stayed at Nana's house in Highland and tried to fit in a lot in one day! We first went to see Granny in Orem. She was so excited to see us all- Marilee and kids and Julie and kids went with us! It was fun to see her and catch up a bit. Then we headed to the BYU bookstore, followed by hair cuts at cousin Val's, then a visit to see the Orgill's new house in Sandy. It was super fun to see them and catch up on what is happening here and there. We miss them a lot (especially Marin and I). Then we headed to Bonka's cemetery plot and made it just in time before there a summer rainstorm hit hard. We finished the crazy day with a trip back into Provo for dinner and then back to Nana's to sleep.

Uncle Daniel has always thought that Aunt Julie and Marin look alike. I haven't thought so very much, but this trip everyone noticed it! Aren't they both beautiful?!

We drove the next day up to Missuola, Montana. My car full stopped in Spencer for gas and peeing and found out it is the opal capital of the USA. We stopped at a tiny general store/gas station/jewelry store. I ended up buying an opal necklace. Our stop meant we missed a huge rainstorm and just got the tail end of it so it wasn't bad driving. When we got to Missoula, after what seemed like the longest day ever, we went in the water slides at the hotel. My first time down I had grace on my lap and tried to stand up quickly so that she would not get a face full of water. By so doing, I broke my toe on a pad under the water. It hurt right away and after about 10 minutes I couldn't walk on it. Amber was super helpful and got me medicine and ice and took care of the kids on the slides. I had to drive the next day with a taped up toe and lots of Advil we made it to the cabin in Invermere.
Stay tuned for part 2!
