"I Want to Be a Part of It- New York, New York"
For Marin's 9 year old trip Nana and I took her to NYC. We had a great time even though the weather was rather rainy. This is us at Rockefeller Center- I think it is the only pic we have of all 3 of us together!
The shows...a favorite? All of them! We loved South Pacific- beautifully done, amazing cast and orchestra. Mary Poppins- Disney magic at it's best. Addams Family- quirky, funny and the Jonas Brothers were there watching with us.
The sights...A pic Marin took of the Chrysler Building from the Empire State Building Observation Deck. We could see the top of the Chrysler Building from our hotel room window!
Transportation...we took airplanes, taxis, the subway, buses, a sad bicycle ride and a ferry boat. Here we are headed to Liberty Island and then onto Ellis Island. Cold, but cool.
The hotel...Wow!!!! The Waldorf=Astoria is the place to stay my friend! Here is the lobby entrance. It is truly historic, beautiful and the location is great. Customer service....5 stars!

The shopping...we each had our favorite places. Nana of course loved Tiffany's on 5th Ave. where she had to drop a few bucks for some new bling! Marin loved the American Girl Store where she got both of us to buy her stuff and she spent her birthday money there as well. My favorite was M&M World in Times Square where I had to reign myself in from buying one of everything!
The food...Marin said one of her favorite things about NYC is the cheesecake. She is one smart girl. We ate it at 3 different places and Carnegie Deli was the best! We ate a lot! Room service breakfast, fancy restaurants, delis, hot dogs on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and of course, NY pizza.
Our legs were tired after so much walking, but this is how we felt when it was time to go home- Marin's face says it all! What a great trip. Marin and I were so glad Nana came. We did lots of fun stuff we never would have done if she wasn't with us and it was fun to have her all to ourselves. Happy Birthday Marin! I hope it is one you will always remember!

Great pics. It reminded me of why I love NYC. I remember going there when I was Marin's age and wishing I could stay forever. A great legacy...pass it on Marin! Grandma

I'll admit I'm jealous, but thrilled that your trip was so nice :)

Marin looks so tired in that last picture....NYC can do that to a girl. So glad you had a great trip.
