Wild Rivers Fun
Ryan said I have been out of sorts for a week or two. I finally realized that it was because as soon as summer started we passed around the flu and then the next week it was drizzly and cold! What kind of summer vacation is that? So Monday morning we headed to Wild Rivers and it FINALLY felt like summer! Grace LOVED it. She never wanted to be out of the water and either was in the swings or on a slide the whole time. Amber's hat came in handy keeping Grace from getting sunburned.
Ben went on this ride at least 20 times. He loved it. Grace, Ben and I stuck around the kid side most of the day. He did go on one of the big rides, but preferred the ones that are more his size. I went on a few with him and even raced him twice. He is truly a lover of water- the pool, the ocean and the water park. He would swim everyday all day if he could. I hope we can have him do swim team next year since he is so good in the water.
I had made lunch for us without realizing that you cannot take food into the park, so Amber ran back to the car with the coolers and left them there. Around lunchtime we got hand stamps and ate our lunch at the picnic tables outside the park. It was a nice break actually and gave us a chance to plan the rest of the afternoon and to visit. Not to mention it saved us tons of money and was much healthier than french fries, soda, etc.
We wore Amber out apparently so she sat down and of course started reading! She has to read "The Oddessy" over the summer for high school. She has been reading Percy Jackson along side it to get more of the mythology in a more current style. Interesting how her brain works! She also watched Grace a bit so I could go on a few rides with the other kids.
What a fun day! Yeah- summer is finally here!
