Thanksgiving 2012
Thanksgiving was very strange this year. Amber and Marin went to Hawaii with the Miller cousins and so we were left with just 5 of us. For some that is a big dinner, but when you are used to having at least 12-20 each year, 5 is very small. We had planned on being with the Redfords for dinner, but they got the stomach flu and we were THANKFUL not to have them come and pass the throw ups along to us. Vanu did join us for dinner so that bumped our numbers up to 6. It was super yummy, but still very quiet and strange. I also missed my girls helping me in the kitchen.
After we had eaten- the good thing about a small group is that there were lots of leftovers- we met up with the Halls to take our traditional trip down to Fashion Island.
The crazy kids had tons of fun posing and running around. It was a miracle that no one fell in a fountain! Ian and Amanda came close a few times.
Our family picture- minus Amber and Marin. So cute we took two...
The boys kept trying to do magazine type poses, but Sean couldn't even do one with a straight face!
Ian found he could balance on top of the bushes and then hide inside when he wanted to. He scared us by popping out of them.
Joy as Vanna White or maybe a Price is Right girl... hoping that was her Christmas present? Lots of fun pictures of all of us wandering around Fashion Island.
The sad part of the night happened when the kids were going up the escalator. Grace started to head down and we yelled not to go down so she turned around and tried to walk up the down escalator. Not a good thing. She ended up with a bloody nose, a scratched up face and leg and lots of tears. We sat on some couches at the top for a while as we stopped the blood and helped her calm down. In spite of the boo-boos we had a really fun time being together. Happy Thanksgiving!
