Whirlwind
June has been a complete whirlwind of activity. Here's the update:
In June, Grace now has 2 teeth, can scoot, crawl, pull herself up to standing in her crib (we lowered the mattress that night!), eats rice cereal and has tried applesauce, pears and sweet potatoes. How did my baby get so grown up? I am definitely NOT liking this being big thing. But she loves it and the kids think it's so cool!
My mom turned 60! (She is not liking the getting older thing either :)We had a great dinner at the Club and had so much fun answering questions about her life. (A game my sister, Laura came up with of course!) The food was great, the company even better, and the Guest of Honor is the BEST! I'm lucky to have such a great mom.
Amber had an instrumental music concert, went to a play with me, graduated from 6th Grade, went to Girl's Camp for church for the 1st time and is getting ready for middle school!!! At her concert she had a solo- at the end of a spooky sounding song she got to stand up and scream. It was the perfect horror movie scream! I'm so proud :) She was 1st chair for the trombone all year- I'm truly proud of that one. She was also chose to give a speech at the 6th grade promotion ceremony. She wrote the entire thing herself and even added a poem she thought up that morning. She did such a nice job and was so calm! Here are 2 of her best buddies after the ceremony- Emily Duginger and Megan Flathom.
(Oh I forgot to mention all A's and B's on the report card as well!)

Justin had a busy month- he ran for Vice President for school next year and won! He is very excited! He had a vocal concert- and he even did choreography! Also getting fabulous grades, (his only B was in creative writing- he just can't bring himself to use lots of amazing adjectives) he finished up 4th grade, and played in 4 All-Star baseball tournaments since Memorial Day weekend. Much to my dismay, we have spent every weekend playing ball- I actually LOVE watching him play, but we have been playing since February and the sisters are tired of it. I feel like I am always in a struggle trying to let him have cool opportunities to play and improve and yet have family time too. That's what happens I guess when you have a son that loves to play and is good at everything he tries.

One night after a game with "Coach Ryan". They won 1st place at the Placentia tournament over Father's Day weekend and the following week.

Ben finished preschool! I actually started to get teary the last day of school. Even though I have Grace, I still feel like Ben is my baby. Much to Ryan's dismay, I am sending him off to kindergarten next near. I think he will do great and he is very excited about it all. He still plays catch with his baseball stuff almost everyday. He completed his first level of gymnastics and part of level 2 and loves going. He watched some of the women's Olympics trials for gymnastics the other day and the first time he saw one of the girls vault he was blown away! I can't wait until he sees the men compete. It will be fun to watch with him!
This last weekend we had a big birthday party for the 5 year old!!! He had so much fun with friends at the park, playing games, having water balloon fights, eating cake and the boys as always started an impromptu baseball game on the grass.
Ben and his buddy Cristian Pilimai at the party.

Marin is the best big sister ever! She gets up almost every morning and gets Grace out of bed and then reads to her! Then after they have had their playtime, she brings her into me! She is the one who can calm her down the best (other than me) and she takes such good care of her.
Marin finished 1st grade and is sad because she LOVED her teacher and doesn't want to leave her! School is harder for her, but she improved SO much this year. I am proud of her for all her hard work- she is finished with speech as her pronunciation is now great, and she moved up 6 reading levels. She started at zero at the beginning of the year (most kids were at 3) and made it all the way to level 6! Yeah Marin!
This last weekend she danced in her ballet recital. She looked beautiful and did a great job- she even smiled. She is so graceful. Marin is trying to talk me into gymnastics instead of dance, but maybe she can do both? I must be crazy!
So that's the sum up! Off to vacation, more baseball, beach days and fun! I love summer!

Wow, you have been very busy! How fun. I don't think I have ever seen Ben with so little hair! Life just keeps moving along it sounds like! We love you and hope we will see you soon!
You have been busy! So have I...that's why its taken me so long to check blogs. It was fun to see you this past week. Thanks for finding Natalie's ipod and we'll take good care of Amber for ya!
Crazy, fun summer days! You are a busy woman! It makes me tired just to think of all the things you do for your 5 kids everyday. I'm tired and I only have 2! And again, a huge thanks for letting us stay at your house, you are so generous! Whew, I better go take a nap, I'm tired from reading your blog!
