Poor Benjamin!!!! Yesterday afternoon Justin came running in and yelling, " Ben is hurt bad!" I met Ben about half way in and he was bleeding like crazy. They had been in the sideyard doing batting practice and Ben walked into Justin's back swing. Luckily he wasn't swinging forward, and it didn't break his nose, shatter his cheekbone or worse. Thinking about what could have happened actually makes me sick to my stomach. Justin, of course, was super worried and felt horrible even though it was an accident. As you can see he has a cut on his lip, and a big scab where a layer or two of skin was taken off. The sicko CSI in me wants to go check the bat and scrape off the skin cells for testing...Like they need to be tested I know where they came from! The inside of his lip is cut up pretty badly. We decided not to go to the ER partially because my car was at the shop and partially because I can't bring myself to go spend three or more hours in an emergency room getting madder and madder as I wait. So my adorable boy may end up with a small scar cuz his mom is lame. Of course, I had stitches in my foot as a small girl and I have a scar anyway! Ben seems alright this morning- it's just tender. No teeth are loose- that is truly amazing. Poor guy he sobbed and sobbed and eventually fell asleep in my arms with ice on his face. I gave him Advil and called Adam and Marilee since Adam cut up his lip before Thanksgiving to get advice. They say that mouth injuries heal quickly- I hope so!!!

Poor wubber!
Poor Ben Miller! Tell him we love him!
Poor Ben, I'm so glad it wasn't worse. I don't blame you for not going to the ER, I hate the ER. At Christmas we took Josh to urgent care in Idaho and it took under an hour in and out. Boy I wish it was like that here.
Ben looks so sad in those pictures! I'm sure he really is, but it's sadder because he looks so sad. Don't worry about not going to the ER. If there is a scar, it'll be little. And boys are supposed to have scars!
Poor Ben. How sad! Poor Justin too...I can only imagine how bad he felt. I totally feel you on the "what-if's" making you sick to think about. I think every mother's been there! As for not going to the E.R. we didn't take Brady a few weeks ago when he bashed his head. We probably should've but we didn't and you know what? He's just fine! I'm with Lindsay...boys are supposed to have scars!
