5 Months Later....

So in February we started playing baseball. We were on a lovely team team called the Pirates with lots of great kids, super families and a hot coach named Ryan. We won the regular season, and then won 1st place ion the play-offs as well. What a great baseball season! Then, in spite of my many protests, Ryan and Justin signed on to play All-Stars. The only reason I really gave in was because again we were playing with a group of great families. So fast forward through 3-4 tournaments (I lost count) and onto the Division Tournament- WE WON!

Onto the Sectional Tournament....We won the first game Saturday, lost the second Sunday (but it is double elimination), and then won Monday night. Justin pitched 3 innings and then was catcher. Not his best hitting night as he was walked twice, hit a fly ball and I honestly can't now remember his last at bat. But defensively he played great. We won again last night and so we play again tonight! Justin pitched again last night and did well. We ended up giving up 2 runs in the 6th (with one of our best pitchers) to tie things up and had to go into extra innings. Luckily we won in the bottom of the 7th!

So here we are in July (a mere 5 days from the start of football season) and we're still playing baseball! We are all a little torn- we love winning and it has been very exciting, but it has been 5 months.....oh well.... GO IRVINE RED!
