HAPPY SPRINGTIME!!!!!!!!!

A few mornings ago I opened the back sliding door to get something, and everything smelled SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. It wasn't until later that day that I realized where the smell was coming from. The orange tree in my backyard looks like it's covered in popcorn. It actually bore almost no friut last year and looked like it was dying. I cut it way back, sprayed it, nutured it and it is now amazing. I've decided my favorite smells in the whole world are baking bread and orange blossoms. There are few things better in the world.

I love working in the yard (which is probably good since my yard is so big!). The daffodils the kids and I planted and loved last year have already bloomed. I've had tons of fressia (SP?) in my yard which was what I got to smell all last month before the orange blossoms- YUM! I even have the first rose of the spring from my garden in a vase on my piano. It's beautiful! All the bushes are full of small buds and I can't wait to have tons of flowers in my house everyday.

I'm sure most of you aren't as thrilled as I am about all this, but I love being outside in the sun, working with my hands and seeing the friuts of my labor. It's a great time to think through things and to receive inspiration. I can usually get Marin to work with me too- which is even better. The whole Olive Tree analogy and others like it make much more sense to me since I'm gardening, pruning and trying to save the occassional dying plant.

Whether you like all that stuff or not- HAPPY SPRING! May it be filled with flowers, sweet smells, Easter joy and lovely weather!

Happy Sprintime to you too. I wish I loved working in the garden but unfortunately I kill everything. Good for you though. As for the orange tree...YUM! It brought back a fond memory of driving through the orange groves in Fresno with Heather and Steve. Aaaahhhhh, California!

I love it the Orange Blossoms! I can't wait to smell them here. I didn't know you had your very own tree, how fun!

My roses are starting to pop too, but I've managed to kill all but two of the small flowers on my walkway. COME do MY gardening :)

And don't even get me started on my backyard; I mean, jungle.
